The purpose of the External Affairs (EA) Committee is to monitor the local, state, and national governments for legislation and other actions that may impact graduate students, professional students, postdoctoral scholars, or higher education, in general. To that end, the EA Committee is responsible for organizing official GSC responses to these issues, and for ensuring university officials are aware of the position of graduate and professional students and postdocs, and the GSC on these issues.
